Afterschool and Summer Youth Programs
A Place Called Home offers comprehensive afterschool, summer, and supportive youth development services. Programming includes academic tutoring, arts education (music, dance, visual arts, digital media), athletics and sports leagues, culinary arts, college access and scholarships, career preparation and paid internships, and mental health counseling and case management.
Eligibility: Serves youth and young adults in South Los Angeles from second grade through their mid-20s. Elementary and middle school youth must be in at least second grade and able to arrive by 4:30 pm. High school students must be enrolled in high school and no older than 18 at the start of the Fall academic term. Young adults ages 18–22 who are not in high school are considered under the Young Adult Services program based on individual need. Active enrollment is required for scholarships and paid internships.

Fees: Services and programs are offered free of charge.
Schedule: School year schedule: Doors open at 1:00 pm; general activities 1:00 pm–3:30 pm; meal service 3:30 pm–4:30 pm; structured programming 4:30 pm–6:30 pm (youth must arrive by 4:30 pm); dismissal at 6:30 pm. Summer schedule: Early arrival at 8:30 am; camp schedule 9:00 am–3:30 pm (must arrive by 9:00 am); extended care 3:30 pm–5:30 pm.
