Summer Junior Lifeguard Program
Ocean skills, swims, paddling, rip current safety, first aid and team building.
Eligibility: Ages 9 to 15, based on age on June 30; must pass annual swim test. Passing does not guarantee enrollment (cap 1,500).
Application: Create or update NBJG account from Jan 14, 2027; reserve swim test Feb 1; pass March swim test; pay in assigned April window.
Fees: 2027 program fee $907 per child; refunds subject to $125 administrative fee, requests by May 15, 2027.
Schedule: June 14 - July 29, 2027, Monday through Thursday, 9-12 or 1-4.
Annual Swim Test
Required annual test: 100-yard freestyle swim and 3-minute tread water, held in March.
Eligibility: All participants must pass each year; reservations required; max 4 attempts.

Junior Lifeguard Scholarship
Scholarship reducing financial barriers; may provide free tuition.
